Hello and thank you for visiting our website Angel Gowns For Dignity to find out about our organization and what we are all about. My name is Susan Herrmann Breshears and I have the honor of being a co-founder and president of this wonderful group. This journey for me all started with a Facebook post by co-founder Micci on her very personal story of loss and how she received an angel gown for her angel baby Logan. I read the story about the gift of angel gowns to families who suffer a loss of an infant and God put it on my heart to bring this gift to the hospital I work for and to the community I live in. I asked Micci if she wanted to help me, she accepted and that is how Angel Gowns For Dignity was born.
I would like to share a bit about myself with you. I have been married for 28 years to a man who supports my work with Angel Gowns for Dignity and we have a 9 year old daughter who is adopted. Our story begins with ten years of struggling with infertility and once we made peace with never having a child of our own so I decided to go back to school. I worked full time as an Accounts Payable Clerk at a local hospital and went to school at night. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of La Verne. While going to school I was offered the Accountant position and after 25 years in different Finance positions I still work in hospital finance today. Even though I am not in direct patient care I have a deep love for being part of a healthcare network who truly believes in helping the people in their own communities.
Because of my various positions in healthcare this experience helps me know how and who to reach out to at various hospitals when our group would like to make a donation. I understand the various NICU levels of care, how Labor and Delivery departments flow, and understand how the number of annual births impact how many angel gowns a facility will need for a year. I believe my years of hospital employment helps bring a perspective to our group that is a true benefit of understanding the needs of the hospitals we serve.
Please help support our volunteer seamstresses with supplies to create these amazing Angel Gowns!
